Transmission Mount Help!
Transmission Mount Help!
Well I am having to replace my tranny mount for the 3rd time now, and I would like to do it myself. Can anyone give me instructions for this? There is one site regarding this on Brent's page, but its pretty much just like "unbolt the cross member, unbolt the trans mount..then reverse"..I was hoping to get a little bit more detailed explanation. Like where should I support the Trans from, where should I put the jack?
Thanks for any help!

Get the car up on jackstands and make sure it is solid.
Get some wood a square about the same size as your tranny pan will work. loosen the bottom bolt and remove it now jack up the tranny with the wood piece between the pan and your jack and loosen the 2 bolts on the mount and remove the mount. Install new mount where old one was and let the jack down making sure the stud goes through the crossmember, tighten good and your done.
Now you know why the "how to,s " say "Take off old one, put new one on" it really is that simple.
One of the few things on our cars that is.
Keep an eye on it for the next few days and it probably would not hurt to go back and make sure everything is tite after a week or so of driving.
