here's a pic of my new tranny being bolted onto my engine...

Any idea's to stop this? The dipstick is touching the headers there,

Cut that EGR fitting off and have it welded shut further down the pipe.

do you think some jb weld would work? that would be a pain in the butt to get it welded.

I think an exhaust shop could make easy work of it?

Not sure on the JB weld holding up to the heat and exhaust pressure.

yeah, the exhaust shops around here are evil, they wouldn't even gut the cat for me, something about a 10k fine......I doubt I can get one to weld the EGR tube shut.

EGR or dipstick?
I know I can bend the dipstick tube.......not sure how far....and it wont be supported any longer. Let me see if the EGR one will bend.....although I think it wont.

Why not thread a pipe plug into it and cut the tab where the bolt goes through off? You are obviously not using it since it is plugged in the pic.

Does this look like enough clearance? the big black thing is the dipstick, for scales sake.

You should be fine. Matter fact if your worried, you could secure some header wrap in between the two. I wound up ditching the EGR tube all together on my Pacesetters. That damn thing made me mad so I cut it off and welded it shut.

Edit: You could also pull the header and tell the muffler shop that it's going on a race car . I bet they'll weld it then.
