Tranny vibration

I have a 95 Z/28 that has a vibration when the car is reved in nutral or shifting gears at high rpms. I have had the car since 1995 and it has done all sorts of funny things but this one seems to be more like a bad problem. if anyone has any sugestions on what could cause that let me know.

Have you had any work done to it? When you say you rev it in neutral and the problem occurs are you moving or are you at 0 MPH?

Three things it could be if you're stationary and this problem occurs. A misbalanced harmonic balancer. May have been caused if it was recently removed and re-installed incorrectly. If you had a front oil leak it might have been removed to get to the timing cover seal or crank seal.

May also be a misbalanced flywheel or possibly some old and worn out motor mounts.

Also check your plugs and wires to make sure they're working okay. A misfiring engine will shake as well.

Kind of sounds like a tranny mount. It's worth replacing the mount anyway. You can get an 1LE mount at most dealers.

I agree with changing the tranny mount will take like 45 minutes or so to do, but its a simple jack it up take the bolts out and put the new one in, mine cost me 20 bucks, when i got on my car the tranny would smack underneath the car. lol
