Tranny and Ticking, Please Help!

I have 2 problems. Recently after my headers and cam install i have 2 problems. I have a ticking sound that will not go away. Its on the Driver side and it sounds like a rocker. I have checked the rockers, they are good. I can feel a little air from the front primary on that side where it meets the other end. On my headers this part was in two pieces for install and steering linkage clearance. Could this cause a rocker tick? Second one, my car vibrates bad when i gas it. Only in gear though. Free revs it is pretty smooth. When i gas it in gear it vibrates bad through the shifter and pedals. Im thinking Pilot bearing since it has a new clutch with factory 106000 mile bearing. But could the disc do it, or loose Pressure plate bolts. What about u-joints. Please help, all this work and it sounds and feels horrible!!!!!!!

your ticking is probably an exhaust leak. Exhaust leaks "tick" and considering you can feel air I would say thats your animal

Thats what i was thinking, but now how do i fix that leak between the two pipes. I thought you couldnt weld it since you need to be able to take it apart. And does anyone have a suggestion on the vibration, it just started a couple days after the install and it started real fast and is getting worse!

I would say loose bolts of some sort, flywheel - pressure plate?

I was thinking of that but i remember using loc-tite on the bolts so that seems like a non realistic answer. Im hoping its the pilot bearing and i can just take the clutch off and put a new on in, Anyone else have a similiar problem and solve it?

just take a look at the u joints if you think it might be that. you should be able to see if they are damaged. dunno about the tranny though

Well, i kind of ruled out the u-joints because it does not clunk or anything, just very bad vibrations and noise when i give it the gas and put it under a load. does not make the noise with the clutch in or free revving so im thinking its something to do with the clutch. The clutch also makes a noise when it is in neutral and the clutch is released.

I had a tranny expert drive it today, he thought it was the throw out bearing that was making a noise at idle but was unsure about the vibrations when u give it a load, he thought maybe a torn up clutch disc, throw-out bearing problems also, and a pilot bearing. Looks like i will have to take it apart to find out what is wrong. Also does anyone know how to fix that exhaust leak from the front primary on the driver side?

Well, i have an update! I tore down the tranny and i found nothing. Everything looks great. So now i am thinking harmonic balancer or the u-joints or driveshaft. The clutch looks fine and everything seemed to be tight and it turns out i have the brass pilot bushing instead of a bearing! So tell me what you guys think since its not a torn clutch disc or bad pilot bearing. Thanks
