but how do u know if ur tranny is slipping

today when it shifted i forget what gear, probably from 3 to 2, i hit the gas and a second or so later it put me in my seat

but u could hear the engine rpm's go up before the gear kicked in

Yep it sounds like it's starting to slip. Hope you have about 1200-1500 bucks lying around...

Mine did that after about 15-20 minutes on the freeway. After comin off the freeway and to a stop...when I started to go again it would do that. Dunno where 94Gray got that price...maybe its cheaper up there but mine cost 1800.00. Figured while I was there and rebuilding my motor at the same time I put in a shift kit...beast plate and a torque converter. Total was like 2400.00

There might be other possibilities why that is happening. Could be a sensor going out. I had a TPS going bad that caused similar problems and made it feel like it was a tranny issue. I just think you should explore all other possibilities before running to a tranny shop. They WILL do a rebuild whether you need it or not, you can be sure of that.

Total w/ rebuild and shift kit was 1179. And Ken Well's rebuilds are no joke...

Everything in Hawaii is more expensive though.
