I posted this question before but with a different title. I really need your help. There is a rattling sound coming from the area where my shifter is. The shifter is tight, and there is no slipping or missing of gears, just an annoying rattling in first and second gear. I'd like your help before I take it to a shop and pay 60 bucks to find out whats wrong if anything. Thanks in advance.

are you sure its not just the tranny mount?

 

When i take off in first it rattles, go to second it rattles, hit third it stops. It usually happens on regular takeoff's, if I get on it it wont rattle, that's why I think something might be loose, I don't know.

 

well, is it just something to do with the console?

or is it mechanical?


it doesn't make much sense...

 

I pulled the console and drove it, still made the sound. I havent pulled the boot and dont really know what to look for under there anyhow. The previous owner had a B&M shifter installed about a year ago along with a new clutch, so I'm thinking it has to be something simple, Hopefully!
