Tranny Mount?

When I rip into it my gear shift lifts by about 5 inches. It is a standard and have been told possible cracked tranny mount. Anyone experienced this? I have a 1997 SS.

Re: Tranny Mount?

Super common for a manual. A poly mount will give better service, but will not isolate vibration as much as a normal rubber mount. In the past there was a mount for the 1LE equipped cars that was a more durable rubber unit, but the separate part number was done away with.

Re: Tranny Mount?

Maybe just buy the regular mount more often?

Re: Tranny Mount?

just replace the trans mount...and look at the motor mounts also....they also may be done

I use the Black energy suspension ones for MM and a stock rubber trans mount
