hey guys, im considering trading my supercharger for a 383 shortblock. ive got a couple questions.

would i have to get bigger injectors?

would my hotcam run okay in it?

how much pcm tuning is involved in switching to a 383?

anyone else have anymore thoughts id be glad to hear them....

I would get bigger injectors and i'd personally run a bigger cam. Do you have the heads to support the motor as well.

 

id probably have my heads ported. i cant get too crazy with the cam, i live in california.

i was just wondering since the deck was resurfaced, would there be any issues with piston to valve clearance wit a 525 lift cam.

 

My friend passed smog last year in San Diego with a blown 383 with the comp cams 224/236/114LS cam and a set of AFR 195 heads.

 

You should not have to worry about PVC on a 383 shortblock b/c most are built for 570-650+ lift cams. I would have it checked b/c it may be built for a big chamber head but you should be ok with a flattop or a little dish.
