Traction control....what year?

Did they offer traction control (asr) in '94? I dont have it but i do have a light on my cluster for it.

Is it possible to get traction control on my '94?

I'm pretty sure '95 was the first year for it. Not sure all you would need but it would cost quite a lot unless you could strip a car for it. Rear axle has sensors, computer, etc....

I'm not sure what this is, but I have a 93 T56, and every so often - usually on wet or icy roads only - my TCS light comes on. And with the absolute slightest touch on the brakes, the system applies damn near full braking force. I know my ABS has a short, that light goes on and off weekly, so I thought maybe that was it. But that made me wonder do I have TC or was the light just installed early? Does that make sense?

I've never heard of a single 94 having traction control, is there anyone on here with a 94 that has it?

Look on your drivers side valve cover and if there is a big box sitting on top, you have TCS...if not, you don't!

Well, my buddy is out on a deployment right now (Navy). He should be back in mid Feb, maybe, as soon as he gets back I will take a digital photo of the button, I might be wrong as far as it being called traction control, but there is a button in there that changes his traction settings and it is factory installed not aftermarket, it looks just like the trunk pop button and is right above it *I believe, I could have it backwards.

It's not traction control then, the button to turn it off is located either on the console behind the shifter in an auto, or on the console in front of the shifter in an M6.

As far as the other question about traction control vs posi, traction control is a system which senses wheelspin and then takes action to stop it by backing off the throttle, upshifting or applying the brakes. When you have a car with traction control the first thing you notice is the gas pedal "kicking back" on you.

This forum is doing weird things... and I have to repeativly sign in.. anyways...

Traction control on my opinion sucks. I am still trying to figure out if I have it but I have test drove one that has it in a 98 and I wasent impressed. When the car starts you have to press the button to turn the TCS off and then you can have fun but as soon as you restart the car you have to press it again. Im not to fond of the push back on the gas either.
