Angry Track told me I have to quiet my car down

Sadly, my car is too loud for the track I was racing in a street legal event, so I guess this isn't too extraordinary. But this is pretty much the only event I can go to, so I need to find a way to temporarily quiet it down for when I go to the track. (How often do you hear that?) Anyways, I love having a car that is loud as all hell, and I don't want to sacrifice that, but I want to go to the track, too. I have to be under 110 db, right now I'm at 117. Mods in sig, any ideas?

Just put a race bullet in place of the resonator. Will quiet it down enough.

Yeah, but I don't want it to be permanent. I love the way my car sounds.

Put in an electric cutout with a bullet muffler on the 'open' side. << That just sounds f-ed up.

Or have the resonator modded with flanges on each end and a bullet that matches and swap 'em before going to the track.

Gee, LT, ORY and a LM, and it's too loud?? I wonder why? 117db is insanely loud...glad you like it - to each his own. I love loud cars too, but that must be pretty overbearing if you're driving it everyday. Mine's ~112db with LT, open Borla and dual cats.

Just curious, can you carry on a conversation inside the car while going down the road without yelling?

Have you thought of a Borla and an electric cut-out where the restrictor plates go through the 'open' side? Wide open on the street and through the muffler at the track. This way you're not adding more baffles/mufflers to the system - just using the catback/cutout to modulate the sound to yours and the tracks preferences. Just an idea.

Dynatech makes a small cone insert that is supposed to quiet the exhaust a fair amount. Based on its shape it is not supposed to create much of a restriction. They are easy to install & can be easily removed if you choose. You can hole it in the end of the tailpipe with a sheetmatal screw. Summitracing pn DTC-72-32520. There are quite a few other brands as well.
