Track times with LT4 conversion/AFR LT4 heads.
Track times with LT4 conversion/AFR LT4 heads.
LT4 conversion with AFR LT4 heads, LTs, Borla, stock converter and stock gears (3.23). 60' could use some work. I see low 12s with 1.8 60', 3000 stall, and 3.73s coming up. I wasn't expecting anything spectacular for the first track time since the LT4 conversion.

with cam, heads, intake, and headers i would expect quite a bit more....something a bit in the low 12's mid 12's....did you do tuning as well? I bet you are not running half of what that combo is capable of.
PCMForLess tuning. I made 4 *somewhat easy* passes to get the feel of the new found power. The worse being a 13.22 @ 105. You see mid 12s-low 12s with stock converter and stock gears?
Edit-I know a better 60' will get me into the high 12s.

well, the power is defnitely there, by the mph, if you get a better 60', although the one you have now aint bad. I would say have it dynotuned isntead, not a mail order tune....but some may aruge.
However stall/gears will defnitely wake that car up.

Wing, Glad its back together and driveable. I'm a lil dissapointed in your MPH though.
What was the weather like?
Get that thing on a dyno and see if it's breaking up or down on power accross the board. I was expected to see you trapping 114-115 even in your auto although i know you haven't had the best luck at the track on other occasions either.
Whats the history of your transmission? That could be whats always holding you back.
I wouldn't go looking for a dynotune yet. I'm more inclined to think its something other than the tuning till the last resort. Bryan shouldn't have much of a problem with that combo.

Thanks Brent. The weather was low 80's if I can remember. No problems with the car that I can tell. I'm not the most experience drag racer out there. Maybe I need more experience at the tracks. Anyways, I made 4 passes and last two, the track officals heard a "thud" from my rear end during the burnout. He pulled me off the track. No problems with the tranny either. Brian did a firmer shift on the program and it shifts real solid. I'm going to Thunder Racing in Baton Rouge during the Thanksgiving week. Gonna get it dyno'ed. Maybe dyno tune if I feel I want to spend the extra cash. I have not readjusted the RRs yet. I'll do that this weekend with the car running. Maybe the RRs are too tight, but it drives great. Like I said, first time at the tracks since the LT4 conversion, I wasn't expecting much, although I was shooting for the high 12s.
Edit-I think the high 60', stock converter and gears are holding me back from getting really good times.

As far as your mods go. I dont see your times as too bad. As far as I can tell from your post....your car is basically stock with heads....intake mod...and exhaust. I don't see how you could possibly get low 12's with just a converter and gears. I would say mid 12's at best. Are those heads ported and polished??? Big valves??? If not I would say your times are pretty much right on with just those mods.
Good job man! The times will def. drop with practice, my first run with the new setup was a 13.20 @111 with a 2.35 60'.
A converter will def. wake your car up nicely, 3.23 gears will work great with a 3200-3600 stall converter.

I concider your times damn realistic/beliveable. Expierience at the track is important, and like you said, you were'nt expecting too much, keep your goals in perspective. And not based on what a few people on here list as their times; some of those are iffy at best.
Oh and ya check out ur trans like he said.

I would of hoped to see a bit higher mph if it were me. To give you an idea Im stock gears, heads, intake, tb. All I have is CAI, shorty headers, and hotcam kit and I ran a 13.08@108mph. This was on a 2.1 60ft time.

I don't consider that 60' tooooo bad
Not bad enough to significantly affect your trap speed.
What are your RR's at lash wise, and what lifters do you have? I betting you need to loosen them up from whatever they're at
Are you still on the stock fuel system?
What shift point where you using?
Bryan only eeked 6hp out of my car on the dyno over his tune. Your setup is a lil further from stock, but not that drastic. Maybe just get a dyno with wideband monitoring before you commit to the dynotune. A dynotune doesn't do any good if there is something minor physically wrong with the car that you could isolate before the tune.

I'd say Wing's mph is on. He has a hotcam and AFR's right? He should be in the ball park of 350-360rwhp. With stock stalll and stock gearing, I'd say he is doing fairly well in the mph department. You could probably squeeze an other 1-2mph with better gearing.
