track testing the hypertech

i have the hypertech and have heard just with messing with the shift points can change you by up to 2 tenths, i was always told that with stock internals i should keep stock shift points but iwas just wondering what you guys have done with similar set ups, increase? decrease by mph?

well, if youve seen the torque curve of an LT-1, then you probably noticed that it drops off like a rock at 5500... the optimal shift point is a couple hundred rpm higher than where your curve drops off, and the normal shift points are what?...5700 or so? so Im not sure youd gain anything by raising them, or lowering them for that matter. JMO though

it doesnt help much raising the shift points, but i did it anyway....what u can do to give the LT1 a lil more "breath" up top is rig up a ram air system...i plan on doing it soon....

this site wasnt working when i checked it just now, but do a search for homemade LT1 ram air....it may give u a LITTLE more top end.

I went to a test & tune & tried several shift point settings on my stock LT1 - none made any difference.

sell the hypertech and get some real tuning. You could probably get 150 out of that thing at least then you can buy a cable for 50-60 ish and then buy PCMforless for $100 or madwolf and have them send you the programs and put them on.
