track run not fun....

Well got the cam and the motor running perfect finally after months of struggling w/ a bad water pump. get to the pit, running at 160deg. good day!
lined up, did a big burnout w/ my new nitto 555rs, staged.
lights go, its stalled at maybe 3000~ rpms? and dropped the clutch. done it a million times, but this time nothing.
rearend is no more, hoping its just the pinion and ring gear but I will disect it tomorrow.
Sorry, I really wanted the timeslip too, finally got the car running right (340-355rwhp/tq range?) and this happens
So basically, I guess I need to know if a 9", 12bolt, or new pinion and ring gear in the rearend is the best idea for me at this moment and keep in mind I am a college kid w/ no $ so thats why I am leaning towards new pinion and ring gear since it would be cheapest, but any advice is appreciated!

Pinion and Ring Gear... Rack and Pinion is what you steer the car with.

Re: track run not fun....

well the 12 bolt would be your best bet cause ya wouldnt have to worry abouut it ever again but if your on a budjet then ya gotta do what ya gotta do
but sorry to hear about your luck man i blew up the second gear in my tranny a few weeks ago and just got it fixed cost me 1300 for a built up tranny which is not to bad but none the less i am also a a student and have little cash and that baisically wiped my funds clean. But i got a performance one and did it right so i only have to do it once

I'd pull the cover off your rear end and see what kind of carnage you find. Could you drive the car home? That isn't nearly enough power to be scared for your 10bolt, so another 10bolt should work just fine.

well it goes in gear fine, the driveshaft spins fine, but the rearend does nothing. I can put it in gear, go through the gears w/ the gas, and nothing happens, feels like im in neutral revving it.

sorry for my stupidity, it was changed... its been al ong day

fryed clutch- I bet half the people on this board have rebuilt their transmissions
but realistically that is about the cost of a new rearend... it sucks either way.
