Question Track Results 8/31/04

Well, I must say that last night I experienced the 1320 and I am hooked!!! It was an incredible feeling creeping through the tunnel and coming up to the staging lane. I was car 145

Run #1

Cleaned off the tires for a few seconds and pulled up to the lights. Staged and waited for the light. I dropped the hammer on the 3rd Yellow.......Did I mention that this was against a brand new EVO?? Guy really couldn't drive, 1st time too.

Tire Pressure @ 26.0 - 1/4 Tank of Gas - Full Weight

R/T .084 (Thought that might have been really lucky, 1st time)
60' 2.163
1/4 14.170
MPH 97.60

Run#2

Battery was dead b/c the dome light was left on, got a jump and let the car run in the staging lanes. Cleaned the tires and staged, Foot Brake to about 1,500 RPM's, 2nd race was against a red mid 70's Camaro

Tire Pressure @ 22.0 - 1/4 Tank of Gas - Full Weight

R/T .085 (Don't let me get too cocky here)
60' 2.050
1/4 14.007
MPH 97.99

The place was packed with all kinds of cars, it was definately a sight. Even though I only got 2 runs, I am pretty happy with the performance, easpecially my two great lights :P

Glad you had fun, welcome to the addiction

Nice 60fts for street tires your first time out

With reaction times like that you should try bracket racing.

What was the weather like? Hot? Humid?

Go back Mid September or October and you should run a little quicker.

Thumbs up Re: Track Results 8/31/04

Hey Ken.. Nice runs kid... It is fun!! Now your going to drain your pockets!!! Your times are decent for the car. You don't really have any power mods so I think you have a 13.80 time in it as is, in cooler, lower DA weather.. When you start to mod (engine) the car LMK. I can lend you some assistance... Since I cannot spend anymore on my can't crack 11second Z I love helping others spend and live through them!! What did the car weigh? Did you get on the scale at 66?

Congrats. Wish I could have been there to watch you pop your cherry!!!

I wish we had a track that people could pull 2.0's on street tires first time there.

Well, I don't know about 1/2 sec, but maybe 3/10ths with cold air and some weight out of there. I ran @ RT66 in Joliet, lots of traction and VHT there that night. My buddy launched his M6 @ 4K and he still bogged down at the line. Sticky.

If you're worried about your reaction time, don't be, it means nothing unless bracket racing. All you should worry about is 60', once thats down the rest comes together.

R/t Is the deciding factor of who leave's first on the light.. Bracket racing, etc.. The clock dont' start till your car moves.. So you can have a 4.0 sec. r/t and still run around the same number if the run's were exactly the same..

Ok, that makes sense now. I guess I was just excited that I was cutting two good lights there. So if I went on the green light, I would still get the same 1/4 mile time etc. Got it, thx
