Angry TPS Question, PLEASE READ!!

I have a question about the TPS. Would a bad TPS make my car idle rough. It feels like I have a cam in it or something. I changed the opti and gave the TB a good cleaning about two months ago and the problem never really went away. Also, would a bad TPS make the car kinda surge on low throttle starts. the car kinda goes and has good power, then holds off a little, then goes again, then holds off, then when the the rpms are high enough it cleans up. This really has me confused. Any help would be great!!

Got access to a scan tool? It will tell you in a few seconds if it is ok. The TPS is rarely a culprit, though. I would be checking for a stuck open EGR valve or maybe vacuum leaks. Combing over the coil wire, coil and plug wires would not hurt either.

When my TPS went bad, at normal acceleration, the engine would rev way high before going from 1st to 2nd gear, and when it hit 2nd you KNEW it. It would put me back in the seat.

With the car running reach back and with your thumb push on the diaphram. The car should stumble or stall. If nothing happens, it's probably bad. The diaphram is fairly stiff, so use some force. This is a general quick test. A scan tool would tell you more.
