TPS gone bad?

Coolant sprayed directly on the the TPS then dripped onto the IAC connector(hopefully it didn't continue to the non-vented opti)....didn't notice till low coolant light came on and it made a slight stumble while pulling into the parking lot.....wiped down the area and duct taped the coolant hose to try to make it home....when i went to drive away it popped out of the exhaust(sounded like it backfired) but didn't stumble at all....looped it back into the parking lot and it would make one pop every 7-8 seconds but there was no stumbling....can a bad TPS cause a backfire? anyone had something like this happen to them....thanks

I doubt the TPS would do that. Maybe a wet plug wire or hopefully not the opti. Perhaps it will dry out and be ok.
