Jet Hot is cheaper coated than Hooker, and have a thicker flange and larger AWG primaries.

Cheaper doesn't mean better. I have TPIS' mid-lengths, and I feel that they're the best mid-length out there. The same goes for their LTs. Spend the extra cash and get the TPiS headers, you won't be dissapointed.
Oh, and TPiS headers come coated by Jet-Hot.

If your going to lower the car then get the TPIS headers, be forwarned however there is avery good possibility that the primary wrapping around the steering linkage will have to be "modified", basically beat the hell out of so that it will clear it unless your lucky and just happen to have the smaler diameter steering linkage, they do comment on this on the install page on thier site. You can no longer get this steering linkage piece from GM, the only sell the larger one, and getting one off of a 96 or 97 car is a shot in the dark as not all of the cars had them.
Long story short, I had to beat the hell out of primary to clear the linkage. The headers also have a problem with hitting the crossmember when the engine is running, it appears that solid mounts are in my future.
the coating is **** to put it lightly, mine have been on the car for one year and came out with about 1/3 of the coating dulled and or gone. Jet hot or not, it hasn't seemed to matter at all.
The ground clearance is however AMAZING, I'm lowered more than and inch and a half, and I have never drug these headers, and that's including the Ypipe that was thrown tgether at an exhaust shop, I would not bother with the headers if I wasn't insistant on having the car lower.

I think all LTs have a problem with the crossmember. And it also totaly depends on the car you're installing the headers on. I've heard of people that have NO problems with anything, then others with tons of problems. I'm not sure what your problem is with the coating, but have you ever tried to contact TPiS about it? They're normally pretty good about that stuff. The headers that are on my car look just as they did when they were new, so maybe it was just a bad set from Jet hot.

I have TPiS long tubes and I installed them with a buddy of mine. The toughest part of the install was getting the dang stock manifolds off and the stock Y pipe. Aside from that, these long tubes practically fell right in after removing the motor mount in order to jack the motor and moving the steering column out of the way on the drivers side...

TPiS

Plus they're VERY light in weight...

Thought I'd find you chimin in here Doug

Yeah the TPiS headers are easier to install, but what was said earlier, you might have to hammer in the primary to make it avoid the steering linkage, Doug's came pre-hammered (they were used). The Jet hots are good for the price though. If price is an object, go w/ the Jet Hots, if price is not an object, or you can find a good price on used ones, go with TPiS LTs.
