Torque Converter lock up switch on the dyno?
Torque Converter lock up switch on the dyno?
Ok.. I'm confused as hell about this. I've heard of people running lock up switches at the track and on the dyno..
Would someone care to elaborate on this? I'm going to be dyno'ing tomorrow and want some correct numbers

Locking the TC on the dyno will eliminate TC, slip which gives different readings (lower) at higher rpm's. At the travk this is not recommended unles the transmission & torque converter are setup to do this, and in most cases there is very little gain (if any) and can cut the life of the transmission in half. Turbo charged vehicles (Gran Nationals) sometimes benefit from this, but if the TC is matched to the vehicle, then in almost all cases locking the TC will not show a gain.
I do have the lockup switch!! w/my combo I picked up 15hp on the dyno!!!(w/my mods),at the track, flipping the switch,at the start of 2nd gear, mph goes up about 3-4mph,but et's stay nearly the same.NO PROBLEMS SO FAR,after 3yrs on the stock tranny
