Is the top speed lower for a auto than for a 6spd? LT1 or LS1?

3.42's, yes 3.73's, I think so BTW, I read in Chevy High Performance about a 94 Impala SS with ported heads, street cam, bolt ons , and 3.42's reached 175mph. I'm not sure though but I think the Impala's might have taller tires than an f-body which wouldn't be a direct comparison.
