top speed?

Hi All
Thanks in advance
I have a 97 formula i was racing a 5.slow mustang and had him beat untill we hit about 120 -130 and my acted like it was running out of gas. i guess it is governed at around 130...Anyone know for sure?...So my other questio is if i put in a chip or program it to have a top speed of lets say 150 do i risk damanging my engine? If so what is the best top speed and Rev limit that this car can handel? Thanks for everyones time and help

http://web.camaross.com/forums/searc...der=descending try the search. some cars that didnt have z-rated tires were at 108 I think.. I think that the ones with z-rated tires are 160 or 163 (theres much debate on this topic, you will find TONS of stuff on here with the search function)

Doesn't sound like your problem is a limiter. If you got to atleast 120+, your limiter shouldn't kick in until 160-163mph. Also you can't get a chip for your car, you will need the PCM reprogrammed. www.pcmforless.com

Other than the non-Z rated tire speed limiter (your speedo wont read past 110 I guess), I never knew there was a limiter

Is there really a 160 limiter on OBD II cars?

My 94 is set for 255 MPH
