top end swap help

hello everybody. i am getting ready to do a head and cam job on my LT1. i was wondering where you all bought your parts and where is the cheapest place to order from? i found a set of comp cams 26918 beehive springs(154.00 free shipping) and 1305 pro magnum nsa roller rockers(259.88 free shipping) the main thing i need to find is the top end gasket swap kit. something similar to the one from cmotorsports.com kit. i'm wondering if anybody knows where i can find these parts for any better prices? thanks

Just get the felpro intake, header and timing cover gasket sets from autozone or something like that.
Head gaskets you might have to get from Summit or any local race shop will have them. Have you decided on what thickness?
Steam Pipe seals you have to get from the dealership.

Rather than a kit........Like mentioned, I would also go with Autozone for pretty much everything ...aside from Mabe the intake gaskets in which case I prefer the factory GM LT1 intake gaskets since they seem to hold up forever(but fel-pro's are alright also)........But for the head gaskets, especially, since your going for increased power with the heads and cam swap (If you like) consider using the 29thousanths compressed thickness Impala head gaskets....or the Mr Gasket 26thousanths compressed thickness head gaskets(I prefer the Impala's myself)......either of these choice head gaskets will give you a decent compression bump over the thicker(nearing 50thousanths compressed thickness) factory type head gaskets........good luck with it.......joe

I am swapping in another shortblock in my 97 Trans Am. Are you speaking of the Impala (Chevrolet) head gaskets? I am searching for correct gaskets as well.

Thanks,
Chris

Head gaskets you choose will depend on several variables. For a stock shortblock without any machining done and near stock combustion chamber size heads, the Impala gasket is a common choice along with the .026" Mr. Gasket option.
