Top end problem?

Im having some issues with my engine. The computer wont let the car go pas 1500 rpm, and it runs fine up untill i hit 1500 rpm. As soon as i go past 1500 the car starts massivly missfiring, and wont accellerate at all... yet if i let off the gas to 1500 rpm the engine picks up and starts to accellerate again. could it be a lose rocker? but if so why would it cause this to only run at 1500 rpm, im guessing its something with the top end of the engine. if anyone knows of anything else it could be please help. thanks for any reply

I am going to say opti-spark.
Something like that happened to mine. It would run at idle just fine and then once u tryed to get it to go it would sputter and stall. When I replaced opti it pulled like a beast again.
