Toning it down, Exhaust question!
Toning it down, Exhaust question!
I currently have a flowmaster American Thunder cat back, its really loud. Im attracting some negative attention lately. I was thinking of switching to an Edelbrock catback, does anyone have any experience with it? Is it fairly quiet?
I will be using a cutout at the track, so super high performance isnt priority. I just want to know if its got a nice sound, without being obnoxious.
Anyone have any experience with them?

My exhaust was to loud for me untill I installed a Hooker resonator tip. They look nice and hush your exhaust without restricting flow.
JEGS part # 520-22028 depending on what size catback you have.

I'll second the Magnaflow if your looking for a good sounding fairly-loud exhaust. It'll be quiet at first, but after about 500 miles the sound will get deeper and a little louder. Despite what people say my exhaust isn't raspy at all. I'm actually thinking about losing my cat or getting a cutout for a little extra umph!
I ditched my flowmaster for the SLP dual/dual muffler, and it is really quiet. It is a nice refined sound, and I can feel it flow better than the flowmaster. But I got a deal on it, otherwise it is a little too expensive. I haven't heard the edelbrock, so I can't comment. But I do agree with the magnaflow like others said, nice deep sound, not too loud, but not silent either.
