Question tire size

is it safe and practical to put 245/45 instead of 245/50 on the stock 16in. rims. my friend has told me good stuff about the yokohoma avs es 100's. plus the price is pretty fair. any help would be great.

When your speedo reads 60 you are actually traveling 57.7 mph.

See this handy tire size calculator.

yes its ok to do that. i have 45's instead of 50's on my z28. however, it will sit about 1/2 inch lower, ride rougher, speedo and tripometer will be off a little big. also, i believe that the yoko ave es 100's come in 45' and 50's. i believe the yoko avs sports only come in 45's. the sports are a little bit more expensive though.
