Unhappy Tips on replacing #2 plug? Please

I'm changing my plugs now, I have all of the ones on the passenger side changed except for the #2 (front) one. Any tips on getting to it? I have Pacesetter long tubes.
Thanks
-Matt

I usually manage to get it movign first with at standard 3/8 drive ratchet. Once i've got it moving, I use a 1/4 to 3/8 adapter so I can get a wee little 1/4 ratchet in there, and this gives a bit of room to swing the wrench.

Plugs aren't that bad to do on Pacesetters. It's just doing it the first time that takes a little while. Glad to see you got it done.

BTW, Did you have any interference issues with the drivers side header and steering shaft? I had to shave a sh!tload off the shaft and where the upper bolt is.

Nope, mine BARELY clears. The passenger side was a real bitch compared to the driver side, but all in all it wasn't too bad.

How many miles on your car? Stock motor mounts?

114k and stockers here. Think that might be part of the problem. Only other thing I don't like is the drivers side collector doesn't come down far enough.

I just finished doing all plugs on my car with SLP shorties. I replaced them with Autolite 103s. #6 was the hardest for me...killed my arm so bad because I had to wedge it in all sorts of odd positions in order to get at the plug. Glad they're all done now .

I read in a thread somewhere someone had made small holes adjacent the hard to get spark plugs...in the inner fender well large enough to get a socket and extension through. When he was done with the job he plugged the holes with some rubber plugs he found- then put the wheel back on.

I dont have any idea what this guy did. I don't know how to picture it because I just got my Z28 and havent attempted to even look at messing with the spark plugs. I have just been doing some reading on it. I will wait till I do a spark plug change to look and see what this guy meant exactly. I've been kinda putting it off. Car runs so good anyway.

anyone heard of this approach?

It's not so bad, just remember to give yourself a good amount of time to do it if it's your first time, and just be patient. The need to contort your body into painful positions to get at the plugs can be very frustrating, but in the end it's worth it knowing that the plugs are fresh and new . I HAD to change mine to 2 steps colder than stock because I plan on adding a little nitrous very soon .

All you have to remember is that "it's only spark plugs, I can do this" and you'll be set.
