Timming chain and gear set

What do you suggest. As of right now I have no motor mods but will soon be building up a 355 nitrous combo.

I went with a GM extreme duty, but, knock out that WP drive gear and bearing. Go with an electric WP drive. No wonder GM changed the LT1 design with the new LS1 motor.

If I did that than I could use a regular sbc chain and gear set, but for now I am keepin it stock for a while. Just changing it cause the car has 200,000KM and it is time for a change.

If you are not going to use the mechanical drive WP why on earth would you pay that much for a timing set?

The stock set is FAR more reliable than it is given credit for and swapping to an electric WP reduces load on it which would effectively make it even more reliable. But don't listen to me I am just capable of independant thought.

The extreme duty sets won't work with 94's will they? Isn't that the LT4 timing set? I'm trying to decide whether I should consider replacing my stock timing set with another OEM set when I replace my distributor. I'm at just over 100K. Any thoughts from the experts?

I think you could just get a new stock chain from DAL (would only be about $20).
Like Dwayne mentioned, the stock timing set is very very good. It's quiet too, and very reliable.
