timmimg ?

Post timmimg ?

i have the msd opti and my car is running ruff i went over the opti and the timmimg screw was out 2.5 turns not the stock 2 would that make my car idle ruff ????

ps sorry for spelling timing wrong lol

not sure what you mean by "timing screw" , Explain?

on the msd opti they have a timing screw that you can adjust -7dreg or +7 dreg timing

Only way you know if the timing is right with the MSD opti is to put a degreed damper on the thing and fabricate a timing pointer so you can verify with a timing light. Everything else is a blind guess.

I didn't get it either. Also didn't know that the MSD opti was adjustable. If everything is working well, I didn't think any adjustments were needed.

It is a "feature" that may be useful to very advanced users but for the overwhelming majority it is just a marketing gimmick that allows kids to cause themselves a lot of problems.

although its a real pita its all you can do

I have seen a few "advanced users" try the MSD and return to stock bases as well. The guys who get things right are NOT the ones who never make a mistake, they are the ones that admit and learn from mistakes. The guys who believe they never make mistakes endup spending a whole lot more and not going particularly fast to show for it. Like oh say the guys who keep saying the MSD opti is wonderful even as they write instructions on how to rebuild it before you even put it in the car.
