timing set off by a tooth?
how bad would it run? i just stepped up from the 306 to a custom cam and its getting some strange knock retard...
i'm pretty sure its correct. i would think you would have some piston to valve clearence problems if it was off. |
Re: timing set off by a tooth?
Depending on which direction it was off, some indications might be- idling somewhat ok, but has no power and falls on it's face under a load. Proper idle can be hard to judge with a bigger cam.

Re: timing set off by a tooth?
well it seems to idle better then the 306 did, and i havent really tuned it much.
i guess theirs no way to figure out if its correct without having to actually look at the timing set? here the post about the knock problem http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...96#post2331396 |
Re: timing set off by a tooth?
well it doesnt seem as fast as the old setup... i still have some work on the tune, and who know how accurate my assometer is.
i'll probably take it to the track this weekend and see how it does. |
Re: timing set off by a tooth?
