my friend is rebuilding his engine. he is to the point where he is installing a new timing set and needs to know how to do it. he has a 93 z28. he has the stock crank and cam from the lt4 hotcam kit we ground down the dowl pin to where it's suppose to be. so we just need to know how to instal the timing set. thanks also how to install new oil pump!

 

The dot on the crank gear should be straight up at 12 o'clock. Put the chain around the cam gear (not installed yet) and then put it's dot at 6 o'clock. Slip the chain around the crank gear and then the cam gear over the cam dowel pin. The cam dowel will have to be at 3 o'clock to do this without disturbing the dot position on the gears. It should look like this.
