Re: Which Timing gears to use with electric water pump ?
I plan on using Lt1 edit for my tuning right now. I have no idea if it's going to work but I don't plan on spinning the car past 7k.
Joe Overton told me this would be fine. He did mention that tuning could be tricky but thats why he didn't give me quite as big of a cam.
He also mention he had it ground so that it would be installed straight up so you might look into that so you don't have to mess with the whole timing issue.

It all depends on the grind we get which will determine the amount of advance when installed. Tuning for advancing the cam is easy as pie
I can be found in the computer/pcm tuning forum on here when you need help tuning your new cam
Ill do my best to help
Re: Which Timing gears to use with electric water pump ?
Thanks I'll take you up on that.
I have someone here in AZ that does a lot of tuning for lots of diferent types of cars but a solid roller LT1 is going to be something new for him I think.
Just curious I think you mentioned you drove your car as a daily driver.
What lifters are you using?

Re: Which Timing gears to use with electric water pump ?
IMO, I would highly suggest the Rollmaster Timing chain set. When I got the CLoyes set from UPS, that thing looks weak and I know of several Cloyes timing gears breaking. The rollmaster is a much better set...hardened billet gears, german chain etc. For only 79.95 is a very good investment. Just took a little bit of grinding on the front cover.

He basically told me the same thing you did

as far as the tuning goes on a solid roller, its basically the same as any hydrolic roller cam. But from what I have seen most solid roller tunes including mine love timing more than hydrolic cams. Altho this might be directly related to the longer duration people use when going to a solid roller cam.

If so, who sells them?
Re: Which Timing gears to use with electric water pump ?
I bought mine from Competition Products (in Wisconsin). Their number is 1-866-435-9405 or try 1-920-233-2023. This timing set is part #cp8305. Anything else let me know.
Re: Which Timing gears to use with electric water pump ?
i heard that with the cloyes and obd II you also have to get a sprocket or gear of some sorts from an obd II car to make it work. is this the same with the rollermaster.
