I have decided to go with the Cloyes Double roller ( hex-a-just ) and a CSI electric waterpump. And I jsut want to make sure everything is going to fit correctly
From what I have read, people have some trouble with the reluctor clearance to the Cloyes crank gear. I am not sure how they are solving it.

I have a Comp Cams L-98 d/r set. You just have to grind the cover for chain clearance. No big deal.

Same here...

I deleted the WP driveshaft and am using a Cloyes double roller. Clearancing the timing cover was minimal.

I plan on using Lt1 edit for my tuning right now. I have no idea if it's going to work but I don't plan on spinning the car past 7k.
Joe Overton told me this would be fine. He did mention that tuning could be tricky but thats why he didn't give me quite as big of a cam.
He also mention he had it ground so that it would be installed straight up so you might look into that so you don't have to mess with the whole timing issue.

Thanks for the advice but I am an advanced tuner It all depends on the grind we get which will determine the amount of advance when installed. Tuning for advancing the cam is easy as pie

I can be found in the computer/pcm tuning forum on here when you need help tuning your new cam Ill do my best to help

Thanks I'll take you up on that.

I have someone here in AZ that does a lot of tuning for lots of diferent types of cars but a solid roller LT1 is going to be something new for him I think.

Just curious I think you mentioned you drove your car as a daily driver.
What lifters are you using?

IMO, I would highly suggest the Rollmaster Timing chain set. When I got the CLoyes set from UPS, that thing looks weak and I know of several Cloyes timing gears breaking. The rollmaster is a much better set...hardened billet gears, german chain etc. For only 79.95 is a very good investment. Just took a little bit of grinding on the front cover.

After talking tomy engine builder he told me to not buy the Cloyes, and he said he would get me a ROLLERMASTER set because they are stronger.
He basically told me the same thing you did

Im using comp cams pro magnums and yes my car is a daily driver

as far as the tuning goes on a solid roller, its basically the same as any hydrolic roller cam. But from what I have seen most solid roller tunes including mine love timing more than hydrolic cams. Altho this might be directly related to the longer duration people use when going to a solid roller cam.

If I'm using a CSI water pump will the Rollermaster set work on my non-vented opti?

If so, who sells them?

I bought mine from Competition Products (in Wisconsin). Their number is 1-866-435-9405 or try 1-920-233-2023. This timing set is part #cp8305. Anything else let me know.

i heard that with the cloyes and obd II you also have to get a sprocket or gear of some sorts from an obd II car to make it work. is this the same with the rollermaster.
