Couple things as I'm not sure if you've addressed them.

A double roller on a 94 LT1 requires the use of a 95+ vented opti, which in turn requires a cam swap.

That I know of noone sells pre-ground out timing covers for double roller sets. Just take a dremel to it.

You wouldn't need to swap the cam would you? I think you could just hammer a correctly sized pin in there and pull out the little spline.

95 and up opti, and a 95 timing cover. 96-97 timing covers would work too, but you would have to plug the crank sensor hole in the bottom of it. Also, if you do this, be sure to tell Llyod so he can send you a cam with the correct dowel length.

The 94 cam doesn't have the necessary nose drilling for a vented opti..
Being that he is going to an aftermarket cam, he should be OK..
But I still posted due to a LOT of people think the only cam difference is the dowel length.. there's also no nose drilling..

Re: Timing Cover QUESTION PLEASE HELP

When you say there's no nose drilling do you mean the position and thickness of the pin in the 94 cam isn't correct? I thought the pin in the stock 94 cam that goes into the crank sprocket was the correct thickness and position so that all you needed was a longer one just like it to fit right into the back of the vented opti. Or is there something else I'm not aware of?

The 95+ opti, along with being driven by the pin, also has another "nose" in the center that pops into the middle of the cam.
