just checking to see if this was a common leak point for LT1s, such as the intake gaskets....seems like i get one oil leak fixed here comes another...already did intake gasket, timing cover seals (still leaking from front cover tho), need a oil pan gasket, low oil sensor o ring....and tranny pan is leaking too....need a big @$$ diaper!

 

Yes its somewhat common, and its a PITA to change the gasket, balancer hub, water pump, opti, oil pan....

yup, its pretty common.. you can easily fix it when u are puttin in a cam

 

I have a leak from my front timing cover too :9
I've replaced everything but the cover itself!!!!
Soooo.. that's the next step for me.....
Been in to the shop 3 times for the leak... I even had a new cam thrown in the last time (just for fun! ;-))

 

if u buy the front cover from a GM dealership, or gmpartsdirect or sumthin GM.....the seals come with the front cover....all u need is a front cover gasket, and water pump gaskets, since u have to pull it also.

i can get part numbers for u if it would make it easier.

 

I've got the same problem, that and the intake leak. They aren't leaking that bad, so I'm going to fix them when I get the cash to install a new cam.
