timing cover help please

timing cover help please

im putting my timing cover back on and the front main seal keeps slipping off, and i cant get it to stay and place the right way, does anyone have any suggestions on how to put it back on? should i drop the oil pan at all or what? thanks

You mean the front of the oil pan gasket? (there really is no such thing as a front main seal) You cannot properly remove/install the timing cover without first removing or lowering the front of the oil pan.

drop all the bolts out of the oil pan except the very back 2, the front lip should then drop enough to allow you to get the timing cover in there.
