Which timing chain set.

I am about do do my heads and cam kit and gathering the parts. Looking to see what chain to get. I see that people have lots of luck with the stock LT1 replacement set. I have a hotcam kit in my car now and have the LT4 setup which has been working well with no problems. I have dug for part numbers and searched but cant fint the part number for a complete LT4 timing set. I do not want to go electric water pump or with the LT4ED timing set.

I see that Autozone has a LT1 replacement chain set made by Cloyes for like $86. Anyone use one? Since its Cloyes I would think its a quality piece.

My springs are PAC 1218's and will be spinning 6500+. From my research I think a LT1 replacement set would suffice for me as I havent seen anyone complaining, but what advantages would a LT4 roller set have over the stock LT1? Anyone running a replacement LT1 set on higher reving heads and cam kits?

Thanks,

Jeff

I've heard of plenty using the stock set with no problem. Some go with the pro gear set. Me personally I went with the LT4 ED set and never looked back. Still running it after 3 tear downs and no problems.

GMPP ED set works well for me and others. Why don't you want to consider it?

POS SA Gear from Advanced Auto here and no problems yet. Only been two weeks, though.

I wanted to see who and how many had good results without going with the LT4ED set, and if there was a ready available single roller timing set out there.

Thanks for the replies guys!
