timing chain question

I checked "Search" did not come up with anything.

my question is: Does a loose timing chain cause power loss? or other issues?

just checking cause my car dynoed stock numbers with long tubes, borla, 52mm tb, CAI intake (slp) regular bolt ons.

would this have been a major part of the reason my car dyno'd so low?

thanks.

You do realize a stock LT1 won't dyno 275/325 rwhp/rwtq, correct?

I know. which is why I'm asking about the timing chain.

it was loose enough to move with fingers. I've ordered a new one and putting that in.

I did have a exhaust leak but, shouldn't effect power as much as that.

ideas? i know there is something wrong. I just don'tknwo what.

the engine is rebuilt has only 20-30 miles on it. it feels strong.

but the dyno doesn't add up.

also, my a/f ratio was 13.0 almost completely through the dyno runs.

Stock chains just seem kinda loose. Your new one probably won't be any different than the old one.

your numbers do seem on the low side. But you have noticed what ibanez6rg said right? stock RWhp numbers are not close to 275 or 285. With the M6 there you should be higher IMO, though.
