timing chain and optispark
OK, so I pulled my motor to put in the LE2 heads/cam and my timing chain has alot of play in it. I was just about to order a new one from Summit, but I read a post about the non-vented vs. vented optispark and now I'm confused. I have a '93 LT1 with a non-vented optispark. Here are my questions:
1. Has anyone ordered a performance timing chain for their non-vented optispark? If so, do you have the part #/ vendor?
2. If I decide to get an MSD Optispark later, for example, am I going to need to get a different timing chain since the MSD is vented?
Thanks,

Re: timing chain and optispark
Doug Rippie Motorsports sells a very expensive timing set for 93-94 use.
All the MSD billet optis are vented. Only difference is the drive mechanism used for the particular year. You would not have to change any timing set if you use their product (as long as you buy the proper part for your engine).

Re: timing chain and optispark
Here is one I found, I read it is for a 93-94 but make sure first.

Re: timing chain and optispark
I have a problem with the Lunati set, since all the pictures I have seen of the cam gears shows a genuine GM part. Is it a repackaged stock GM set? Looks fishy...
