timing chain fitment

Alright guys I just ordered a cranes cam double roller timing chain set (cam and crank gears included) for my 1994 lt1 camaro z28. I was just wondering if they're would be any clearance issues or fitment adjustments I might have to make to get the timing chain to fit correctly. Didn't know if it were like the ls1 and just go right on....any help on this topic is quite appreciated.

Thanks,
Jacob

I guess you are planning to do a vented opti swap, too? Otherwise, it's not going to work, because there won't be anything to drive your optispark.

Re: timing chain fitment

Actually I had to cancel the order on the cranes cam timing chain....but I found another on summit's site for about the same price made by cloyes and its also a double roller timing chain set. I narrowed this timing chain down by exact specs of my car including the year and it said nothing about it not fitting...I even went under fitment check and it said made for 1994 camaro z28 so I don't see what you're trying to say...maybe you could explain a little better.

Thanks,
Jacob

He's saying you'll have to upgrade to the 95+ opti system which requires a lot of extra parts. Also you'll have to run an electric waterpump too.

No double roller has the provision for the spline driven, non-vented optispark, nor can it drive the LT1 water pump (it is essentially a regular SBC timing set). So, you must convert to a vented opti that does not use the splined drive and also convert to an electric water pump.

What about if im using a LTCC setup and a EWP? Since the opti isn't there anymore shouldn't it fit? Sorry this is my first LT1 so i'm still learning them.

You still have to have the opti to run your LTCC.
