Timing chain?

How important is a new timing chain when going with a bigger cam? Is it something that can be done easily later ?

Easily, later? That depends on what you think is easy. Very easy to do when you are swapping cams and recommended. Timing sets are a wear and tear item.

I wouldn't take a chance, its senseless to invest the time and money to do a cam swap and leave out one of the more critical parts of the setup. You are going to have all of that stuff apart anyhow..

Replace the chain and gears, even if you can only afford the OEM replacement.
