Time for a rebuild
Time for a rebuild
im lookin to rebuild my engine and winter is a good time to do it....i am thinkin about 383 stroker kit...anyone got any comments on what to do to it and where i can get the parts for the rebuild
Re: Time for a rebuild
If you decide to keep the stock stroke Summit sells an engine rebuild kit for something like $540 the last time I checked, comes with- Forged pistons, new rings, new bearing set, freeze plug set, gasket set, new high volume oil pump and plastigauge. That is specifically for the LT1. You would need to have a machine shop check your crank, rods and block then you could order the kit in the correct oversize.
If you are dead set on a stroker look at the supporting advertiser/group purchase section of this board. Combination motorsports has some things on sale. I looked through it the other day and they are selling complete 383 rotating assemblies from mild to wild. Go to their website and see what fits your budget. cmotorsports.com I think.
What do you have planned for the valvetrain?
