ZZ409 or probably better would be cc306.

GM 847

If you are getting headwork, look into this cam and some new springs...Altjar just went into the 11s with that cam on stock heads.

do a search for the cam....

A custom grind matched to the heads would be a good choice. The bigger cams (gm 847. cc306. xe230/236) are the ones that will get you to there. I would also consider advanced induction heads. There are a few guys throwing down big numbers with them. The tune is going to be key.

I have Lloyd's heads and made the numbers in the sig with a 230/236-112 cam. I chose a bit smaller cam than the Comp 306 or GM 847 to keep it more driveable. With a good dyno tune, it sounds like a lot smaller cam. On the low end, the car is pretty much like stock. On the top end, though, it screams. It just keeps pulling harder and harder as the RPMs increase.

The coolest thing is the torque curve. It stays above 300 ft-lbs all the way from 2000 RPM to the 6400 RPM redline.

I don't think anyone has the GM847 with Lloyds heads. That will be a 400rwhp combo if I've seen it.

I would go with the 230/236 it should be more streetable then the other big cams listed.

Theres nothing not streetable with the 847. My buddy is running the 230/236 in his stock headed car, and while his idle is a little better, they both offer similiar street manors IMO.

I talked to Lloyd about that and he said a solid 390rwhp with just his heads, GM87, CAI, headers and a good tune. That's what I'm doing once I get the LT1.

ditto here for what he said ... I had the 847 cam and the custom grind makes alot more power, gets better mpg, runs smoother, and you don't have to wait until 3500 rpm to get in the powerband or rev it to 6800rpm to make max power

custom grind?

whatever that means, I can't see anyting making more power then the 847 unless you had like 0 *'s of advance then yeah, but you need it for bottom end power, although I've seen cams retarded as much as 4 degrees, gain HP & maintain the TQ numbers across the board, weird.

I know this is off the subject, but if you get a new cam would you be interested in selling your old one?
