I'd still say thats an exhaust leak... thats exactly how mine was. I just replaced the passenger side header gasket today and my god, the copper gasket was literally black around the ports. I actually think they didnt heat cycle the gasket properly on that side or just didnt tighten it enough.

Could be injectors. Have you done any exhaust modifications lately?

Only exhaust mod is cutout, i plan on doing headers next month so we'll see there. i might as well order a new set of injectors also the car only has 163k miles on her like i said all opinions welcomed i dont want to chance missing anything.

It seems like a lot of the LT1's have some sort of ticking noise to it. It would come and go in my old 93 Z28. It drove me nuts, but I could never really figure out where it was coming from. I tried adjusting the rocker arms and no difference. It always seemed to get a little quieter after an oil change too. I put 40K+ miles on the engine with a supercharger and never had any problems so it probably isn't that big of a deal. If it gets louder then it could be a rod knock so just keep track of it.

Leave the injectors alone, get them cleaned if anything.

My car had a ticking noise in it too, I checked everything, changes plugs and wires, because I thought it was a arch problem, or something like that, but it wan't turned out to be a exhaust leak. Check all tubes that run into your manifolds, like from the EGR, etc., on the drives sive manifold, where the tube ran into the manifold on my car that nut had loosen up and was causing a exhaust leak, I tighten it up, and have had no problems since.

Might be the exhaust manifold gaskets. I've had two leaks and they both sounded mechanical. Tick gets faster and louder as rpm's increase.
