Ticking noise.

Ticking noise.

ive used the search button and looked around, but couldnt find a almost definate awnser.
i got a 94 z28 a4 light mods intake exhaust etc.
when its cold its got a slower tick tick tick when it warms up abit it quietens down a bit and when the rpm is raised a bit it basically goes away what do you guys think?

Have you pinpointed where the tick is comming from exactly? usually on these cars it's the rockers.

sounds like passanger side aroudn the valve cover ill pull the cover friday and check the rockers, if you guys think thatd do it.

I had the same thing. I got a stethascope, started her up, and found out exactly where the noise was coming from.....sounded like it was coming from under the valve cover, but it was actually the injectors opening and closing making a ticking noise. You can also use a long screwdriver and put your ear to the handle to find out where the noise is coming from.
