Ticking lifter???????

I have had a ticking sound coming from the drivers side of the engine. It does get a little louder with increasing RPMs. My mechanic says its mostly likely the lifter.

Has anyone had this problem? How hard was the fix? i plan to fix the intake manifold leak anyways? Should i just go ahead and replace the bad lifter?

Advice and suggestions needed

Thanks in advance

I've had a problem with a bad lifter, it flattened out and took the cam with it. You may also have an exhaust leak or a loose plug. Try those first. I also wouldn't replace just one lifter unless you can pin point the exact one. If you have this one goin' south there is a chance that the rest will too. Just a little insurance so your not pulling the manifold again. Autozone sells the Mellings for about $11 each.
