Throwout bearing went, clutch forks jammed forward, what do I do?
My throwout bearing apparently went out. I tried to drop the transmission, but it wont slide back from the bellhousing. The clutch fork is jammed forward. Im going to disconnect the bellhousing bolts from the block tomorrow and see if I can wiggle it free but I thought Id ask if anyone has any tips ?
did you take the slave cylinder off? I dont see how it could be jammed? There are 8 bolts total holding the trany to the bellhousing, there is a bolt on the top on each side that you can't really see, maybe u didn't get these? just throwin out ideas
I have all 8 bolts off. Normally when you take off the slave cylinder and fork cover, the fork is revealed. You slide the tranny out a couple inches and disconnect the nut on the clutch fork, pull it off the throwout bearing and the transmission slides out. Well the clutch fork is pushed all the way in, as it would if it were pulling the pressure plate back. The transmission doesnt want to budge in any direction.
