throttle sticking, cam surge

hey,
i have a 94 m6 z28 with about 140k on the clock. the throttle seems to be sticking on initial effort, but once the throttle is past the first half inch-inch of movement it feels fine. what could be the problem? loose linkage, needs cleaning??

also, i have a 224/230 112 cam and i seem to get a fair bit of cam surge when i am cruising slowly in 2nd gear in parking lots. however the cam didn't surge at all before i got my programming. any input?

thanks,
trevor

on the sticking throttle, I would first clean the TB, I pulled the one for my 93 motor, cleaned it and it worked like new afterwards

Yep, time to clean the throttle body and all should be okay with the sticking.

You have two choices depending on how much effort you wish to put into it.

1. Take your intake elbow off and get some carburetor cleaner and a rag and spray the hell out of the throttle plates and wipe her down real good.

2. Take your intake elbow off and then take your throttle body off and spray her down and wipe her up real good from both sides of the throttle plates.

#2 is the most thorough way and time consuming. #1 can probably be enough to make you happy for a little while until crud builds up again.

I did a improved #2, I removed the TB, got a TB gasket kit, dissasembled all but the blades and shaft, and cleaned it all good with carb clean and a old tooth brush, looks like new now
