Question throttle body& jett chip stage 2

what do yall think about the stage 2 jett chip? is it worth the money or will it mess my car up? someone told me the chip would make my car run wide open a eventualy blow the motor. is that true? what throttle body would be best for a pretty much stock lt1 with a free flow exhaust 52mm or 54mm?

I'm assuming that you have a 96 LT1 from your user name. If it is a 96 you can't change the computer chip since it doesn't have one. 96 and up are obd II and have to be re-programmed. You can however send the PCM off to PCMforless (http://www.pcmforless.com/) and have Bryan reprogram your PCM for you. And you will feel some nice gains from the re-program. If your car is 95 or earlier, PCMforless can program a chip for you to accomplish the same thing. I have one of Bryans tunes and am very happy with it.

As far as the throttle body goes, the stocker will flow enough air until you do heads/cam. If you really want to upgrade, a 52mm will be fine. IMHO a cold air injection (CAI) system will get you more power and cost about the same as a larger throttle body.
