Re: throttle boby bypass

It keeps the TB from getting heated up by the coolent. It is a worthwhile mod for about 5hp or so. You will either need nothing more than a hose clamp or just a barb fitting. Not sure, but check out shbox.com

Red face Re: throttle body bypass

hose barb? is that like just a 3/8" tube to connect the two coolant-to-throttlebody hoses? do you have to cut the hoses since they are long? anyone got a pic of this tb bypass on their car (94Z preferredd) thanks..im curious and wanna do it this weekend too

Like this for a 1994. Use a hose barb (union) where it says "hard line".

Question Re: throttle body bypass

does anyone ever have to cut the hoses to make them shorter? it seems to me there'd be a lot of excess hose if you dont..

So is the hose barb that you need 3/8"? No one answered this, so I want to know so I can do it after work today.

Yes. Don't forget there is a search button.

no its just unplug from the TB, and pop the hose barb between them and clamp the hoses on each side and your done. I watched my buddy do it in his LS1 and then saw a 96 Z28 done.

I cut mine, because I was afraid it would somehow get sucked into the radiator fans. It wasn't a big deal to me knowing I'd never undo the MOD.

Re: throttle body bypass

95phoenix: a 96[and 95-7] don't need a 'hose barb' [only 93-4]
Lower: the fans blow toward the rear of the car they don't suck air in..
Trimming them didn't hurt, but not needed tho..
