I think a 52mm is good for up to 500 crank HP.

Re: Throttle body
I had a 52mm on the car when it made 409rwhp SAE through the M6/10 bolt. That equates to about 470 flywheel hp. The engine was pulling 1.5-3" of vacuum from 6000-7000rpm.
I swapped to a monoblade and made 413rwhp SAE through the M6/3.5" steel driveshaft/ 35 spline Moser 9" with 4.33s. That equates to about 490 flywheel hp from the additional drivetrain loss. 0.5" vacuum max with the monoblade.
This was on a 383 with the LE ported LT1 intake manifold, LE2 heads/cam.
The only change to make power was the switch from 52mm - monoblade. All of the gains were pretty much eaten up by the new drivetrain, but I was happy to not lose anything going to the 9".
In my personal opinion, I would go with a 58mm for any heads/cam package no matter the bottom end (350/355/383/396). I think the monoblade may have been overkill, but the car ran just fine with a little tweaking of the tune.
