Thoughts on an Oil Leak
Thoughts on an Oil Leak
Ok, I've got an oil leak on my car, have had it since the day I got it 3 years ago... should I bother fixing it? The whole underside of the engine area has oil on it... front, back, and sides... and also did since the day I got it, so the car may well have had the leak since the day it drove off the dealer's lot - so it's very possible it's the common back of the intake manifold leak.
Should I bother getting it fixed (may not be able to do myself because of lack of time and tools)? I've also thought about getting steam cleaned to try to pinpoint the leak for sure, but I worry about possibly damaging the opticrap. Is there any way to protect the opti if I do get the car steam cleaned?
Or should I just say f it entirely and leave the leak there. I guess it will be fixed if I ever get an LT4 style intake/heads...
The car is a 1995 Z28 with 83k miles btw.
Thanks

Re: Thoughts on an Oil Leak
Check your oil level often and let it go - unless you cannot stand the spotting in your driveway/garage.
Someone might fix it and charge you a lot of money - only to have it start leaking w/in a year or so.
