Those of you with poly motor mounts, question for you

I told myself I wouldn't do this because I didn't want any extra vibration, but I've heard a lot of people say that with the poly motor mounts *and* transmission mount the vibration is not bad at all. Since I already have the poly trans mount, and the stock motor mounts have 138k miles on them I have decided to get some Energy Suspension motor mounts.

My local autozone has some in stock, but they have two different kinds for GM. Also, looking at the Summit store online it's also pretty confusing as to whether one part number fits both sides of my car, or whether I need two different kinds. So for those of you who have these, what do I need to get?

There are two different part numbers as the mounts are not the same. Just call summit and talk to someone.

I don't notice a vibration but depending on your cam the car will shake more.

You know, I cant even tell that the vibration is even there unless I sit and try to notice it, even with my cam although its somewhat small. There's more vibration, this is true, but not very noticeable.

I have heard this many times, but to be honest with you i have alot of doubt. I have had poly engine/tranny mounts in a few cars and never had a problem. I put in poly mounts in my 94 camaro and it was far smoother than it was b4....that goes for the tranny too. Even if they did vibrate a tad more...which is not the case..it would be well worth it due to the severe beating they can withstand.

There is a little more vibration, but it's tolerable. My car was actually the prototype car for the Energy Suspension mounts back in '99 and when we installed the first set the steering linkage hit the header. That caused horrible vibration. The second set fit perfectly.

I think I got the prothane from thunderracing. I didn't even notice any extra vibration from them.

I noticed more vibration coming off idle situations and maybe a little on the highway but thats about it. And yes you do need 1 of the mounts PN1118 and the oter is PN1167 if memory serves me right... either way just make sure you dont get 2 of the same kind. The drivers mount is about 1/2 the size of the pass side mount.

I put them in my car and found the car much smoother to launch and much less lurchy at low speeds. (the lurchy comes from cam surge with the hot cam)

I love them.

The "lurchy" as you say, if you get it reduced by different mounts, it is probably a wrong back-lash setting in the rear end or your tranny blows. No offense but people just don't know what it is to build a rear end anymore...
